School update re: lockdown3 November 2020 (by Craig.Orgill) |
Information on school remaining open during up coming lockdown.
Dear Parents/Carers
We hope that this letter finds you and your families safe and well. Since we last wrote to you, you will no doubt be aware that the country moves into a full lockdown starting on Thursday 5th November 2020. We all know that this means even tighter restrictions will be in place to try and limit the spread of infection and stop the current rising rate of cases.
At Chasetown Community School we remain committed to being open for all our children during this time. However, from time to time some classes may need to access online learning from home. This would happen when:-
- Children and staff need to self-isolate as a result of a positive case within their class bubble.
- Staffing levels are insufficient to safely have all classes on site.
In such cases we will contact you personally by text or telephone.
We will continue to follow our risk assessments and heightened hygiene and cleaning measures. It is critically important that the spread of infection is reduced and the virus is under control. We therefore wish to remind you of the following:-
- It is vital that we have your up to date contact numbers and that you are contactable and also that you have arrangements in place should your child become ill or their class bubble is sent home. In such instances you will be required to collect your child. We are unable to use school transport/taxis to return your child home.
- Social distancing is so important. Please ensure that all adults and KS3 pupils wear a mask when entering our site. School staff will continue to use PPE around the school site.
- Do not congregate in groups of more than one household when collecting and dropping children off.
Children MUST NOT come into the school (or go anywhere else) if they display symptoms related to Covid 19 until they have had a negative test result.
Full guidance can be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Please do not hesitate to telephone or email myself or any member of the school leadership team should you wish further clarification.
Thank you for your continued and valued support.
Yours sincerely
