Information on 'Helping Hands' Workshop on Monday 8th November
Dear Parent/Carer,
As part of our PSHE curriculum on Monday 8th November all Key Stage 2 pupils will be participating in a workshop called ‘Helping Hands’ which will be led by the Loudmouth Theatre Company.
The Department for Educations guidance states that as part of our PSHE (Personnel, Social and Health) curriculum we should ensure that we cover the topics of:-
- sometimes people behave differently online (e.g. pretend to be someone they are not) and how data can be shared and used online.
- how to keep safe online and recognise risks and harmful content and how to report them.
- about the importance of privacy for both children and adults; and how some secrets can be unsafe to keep.
- that each person’s body belongs to them, the differences between appropriate and inappropriate or unsafe contact and recognise feelings of being unsafe.
- how to report concerns or abuse and get advice.
The Loudmouth Theatre Company will be using a well-researched drama plus discussion workshops to help our pupils increase their awareness of the above topics. All topics will be covered in an age appropriate manner. We know that all Key Stage 2 pupils will benefit from this experience and are pleased to be welcoming an experienced theatre company to highlight issues that can affect Key Stage 2 pupils today.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely,
Kate Archer
